The Discovery 2 keys are able to have the metal shaft of the key separated from the remote which means you can either swap your existing key onto this remote or have this cut to match
If you do not have an original key you will need to purchase a barrel and key
This remote operates at 433Mhz
Most Discovery Series 2 in Australia use this frequency, but some use 315Mhz
It can be tricky to identify which frequency your remote/vehicle operates on
First (and easiest) you can email us your vehicle identification number (VIN) - we may be able to identify frequency by VIN
If this fails you may need to look at the module in the vehicle, but again this may not show frequency
Lastly, you can have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostics computer
Your vehicle will need to be taught to communicate with this new remote using a diagnostics computer

I needed a spare key fob for my Discovery 2 so I called 4x4 to check whether the Valeo would suit my vehicle, they said yes so I bought it, received it a couple of days later and synced it to the car using a Nanocom - all very simple and straightforward.
