Weight Savings for the Ultimate Off-Road Rig
Carbon Offroad understands that building the ultimate offroad rig often requires a lot of time, effort and additional parts once it comes off the factory floor, and this all adds weight. The capability to self recover a vehicle is generally high on the list of priorities for most overlanding and touring journey people, as most of the time, solo travel is the reality. In the past, this generally required a winch with steel cable and a heavy steel bullbar to carry it, but in todays market, there are smarter options and this includes the winches. Yes you can still buy a cheap heavy winch made from castings of solid steel if you like that sort of thing, but technology has improved, materials have improved and this has led to a winch being designed and built like the TANK. Billet alloys machined on CNC mills, Alloy castings make up the gearbox housings and main frames of the winch, critical components such as the winch drum are still made from steel, but this winch also features an aesthetic quality that is almost unmatched in the market. If you truly appreciate good design, the TANK will impress with it's sexy lines, solid cast alloy control box and solid alloy fairlead.
Unmatched Waterproofing
One of the most notable requirements of modern winches is that a winch must be waterproof. The TANK winch features a system unseen before in the winch market. The winch motor and drum frame mount are assembled as one unit at the factory, then it undergoes real life pressure leak testing to 20PSI on a custom made jig specially designed for this test, simulating the same pressure as a depth of 14 metres underwater! It must pass this test before moving further down the assembly line. Carbon Offroad guarantees that this winch will not see water out of the box.
Total Sealing for Extreme Conditions
Aside from the motor side, the gearbox housing also features a two stage mechanical and rubber o-ring sealing system which will ensure that part of the winch is also 100% sealed from water ingress to IP69K levels.
Heavy-Duty Performance
Other functions of the winch remain similar to Carbon Offroad's other winches, utilising a rotating ring gear free spool clutch assembly, 3 stage planetary gear train made from solid cut and hardened gear steel, with the gear train being oversize and similar to Carbon Offroad's Scout Pro Extreme Duty winches. It also features a gear train connected braking system which mitigates any heat build up on the drum which could cause damage to the winch rope.
Flexible Control Box Placement
The control box can be mounted over the drum directly into the threaded holes in the tie bars or over the motor with supplied mounting brackets, it can also be mounted remotely flush onto a bar or there is an optional remote mounting bracket available separately.

How to apply for a warranty:
Contact the seller of your Carbon Winch (All Four x 4 Spares) to discuss the problem. If your seller deems that the issue with the winch cannot be addressed other than through a warranty claim, the seller is required to contact Carbon Offroad on behalf of the user. Carbon Offroad will attempt to identify if the issue can be resolved without seeing the components in question, or may ask for additional proof such as images or video. If it is deemed that the winch or components are required to be sent back to Carbon Offroad, the customer is to make arrangements to return them to our location at their expense. Once the winch has been returned along with a copy of proof of purchase, Carbon Offroad will assess the warranty claim and provide feedback on a successful or unsuccessful claim. The winch will be repaired and then arranged to be sent back to the customer. If the work is covered under warranty Carbon Offroad will bear the return shipping cost. If not, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

The warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the winch. When applying for any warranty service, proof and date of purchase acceptable to Carbon Offroad, such as a copy of your purchase invoice must be supplied. If no such proof can be supplied warranty work will not be authorised. Any components, labour and other materials required will be quoted and paid in full prior to any work being conducted on the product in non-authorised warranty situations.
Carbon Offroad warrants to the original purchaser of their 4wd recreational electric recovery winches range that:
The mechanical components of the Carbon Winch will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the: winch gearbox housing, clutch ring gear, planetary gear sets, driveshaft and brake mechanism, drum endplates and cross bars, winch rope drum.
That the electrical components including the electric motor and solenoid will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years. That the wireless remote receiver and transmitter unit will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years (battery not included). Winches must always be fitted by a competent person skilled in winch installation. A winch is a potentially dangerous piece of equipment and must be installed correctly.
The warranty does not cover or apply to:
Removal or re-installation of the winch. Shipping costs of the winch to and from Carbon Offroad unless otherwise stated at the time of the warranty claim. The finish of the winch. The synthetic or wire rope. The winch rubber and urethane seals.
The warranty is void if the winch:
Is used in any commercial or industrial use or application, or any hoisting application. If the minimum recommended battery size requirements stated for that particular winch are not adhered to. Winches that have been incorrectly installed or wired. Has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, collision, overloading, modification, misapplication, improper installation or improper maintenance or servicing. Does not have the supplied isolator switch installed or an approved failsafe switch / fuse with a method of power disconnection with a minimum rating of 400 amps installed.
No Carbon Offroad dealer, agent or employee is authorised to make any modification, extension or addition to this warranty or represent Carbon Offroad in any verbal or written correspondence with regard to any warranty claim unless expressly approved by the Director.
Carbon Offroad reserves the right to change product design without notice. In situations in which Carbon Offroad has changed a product design they shall have no obligation to upgrade or otherwise modify previously manufactured products.
Water Ingress Protection Warranty
This warranty covers:
Mechanical components failure due to water ingress of the electric motor, gearbox and brake mechanism. Electrical components failure of the electric motor, wireless receiver unit and electric solenoid unit.
What the Water IP Warranty doesn’t cover:
- The wireless transmitter hand remote control.
- The plug in hand remote control.
- Mounting Bolts.
- Battery Cables and lugs.
Protecting your winch from water ingress:
There are no conditions on maintaining your IP Warranty. However Carbon Offroad would like you to understand the following information about your winch to get the best out of it in the long term.The rubber lip seals on the winch rope drum are a wear item, they are subject to exposure to the elements and abrasive materials such as mud, sand, salt, dirt and other environmental contaminants and will wear out with use of your winch.
We recommend you replace the drum lip seals every 12 months or as often as you feel necessary dependant on the use of your winch.
This will ensure that your winch maintains its high standard of waterproofing and provide you with years of hassle free operation.
International Warranty - Special Conditions

2 year Mechanical Warranty
Coverage for all mechanical components including brake unit, driveshaft, planetary gearsets and clutch mechanism.
2 year Electrical Warranty
Coverage for failure of the winch motor, solenoid unit, wireless remote control receiver and transmitter, plug in remote control.
Replacement parts, service items and other components covered under warranty may be provided free of charge, however shipping costs are the responsibility of the end user.

All Four x 4 Spares will always undertake to provide adequate packaging to prevent damage to products during shipping. Our responsibility for any damage to freight ends when order has left our premises. We will consider replacement of damaged product however judgement will be at our discretion. If damage has occurred during shipping it would be advised to notify us and relevant courier.

- All Four x 4 Warranty does not cover - Labour expenses, freight or towing costs, oil leaks, broken gears, consequential damage, loss of income or any other loss or expense.
- All Four x 4 will not be liable for any repairs or work carried out, without prior approval from All Four x 4.
- Warranty is void if parts have been tampered with, modified or dismantled.
- Goods cannot be returned if they have been specially ordered or vehicle cut section.
- Goods not required must be returned within 14 Days of invoice date at purchaser’s expense. Goods will be accepted only at the Management’s discretion. If accepted for return, such goods will be subject to a 15% handling charge.
- Good will not be accepted for return if they have been fitted, unless proven faulty.
- Warranty is void for components used in performance / modified vehicles or parts / competition / off road / race applications.
