Terrain Tamer Gearbox 5th Gear Mod suitable for Landcruiser 70 80 100 Series H150 H151 Transmissions
This is a new quality Terrain Tamer branded 5th Gear Ratio Change.
This modified gear set has a taller ratio 5th gear, which provides an approximate 20 percent reduction in RPM.
Suitable for:
- Toyota Landcruiser 70, 75 Series, FZJ70, FZJ75, fitted with the 1FZFE 4.5 litre 6 cylinder EFi petrol engine, built from 08/1992 to 08/1999 runout.
- Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series, FZJ80, fitted with the 1FZFE 4.5 litre 6 cylinder EFi petrol engine, built from 08/1992 to 12/1997 runout.
- Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series, HDJ80, fitted with either the 1HDT or 1HDFT 4.2 litre 6 cylinder turbo diesel engines, built from 08/1992 to 12/1997 runout.
- Toyota Landcruiser 105 Series, FZJ105, fitted with the 1FZFE 4.5 litre 6 cylinder EFi petrol engine, built from 01/1998 to 08/2002 only.
- Toyota Landcruiser 100 Series, IFS, HDJ100, fitted with the 1HDFTE 4.2 litre 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine, built from 08/2000 to 08/2007 runout.
- Toyota Landcruiser 100 Series, IFS, UZJ100, fitted with the 2UZFE 4.7 litre V8 petrol engine, built from 01/1998 to 04/2005 only.
NOTE: NOT SUITABLE FOR the HZJ80 H150 gearbox transmission.
A common complaint about the FZJ70, 80, 105, 4.5 litre and UZJ 4.7 litre petrol and HDJ80, 100, 1HDT, 1HDFT, 1HDFTE, 4.2 litre turbo diesel models, is the high engine speed when at highway cruising speeds.
Typically at 100km/h, the engine will be revving at around 2400rpm.
This can cause loud engine noise, high fluid temperatures, poor fuel economy and excessive engine wear.
Combined, these issues can significantly decrease engine life for those vehicles spending a lot of time at highway speeds.
This is a modified countershaft / layshaft and 5th gear set.
These have been designed as a direct replacement for the factory fitted components.
This counter shaft and 5th gear set is designed in Australia by Terrain Tamer. A company with extensive experience in the 4WD industry.
Manufacturing is conducted by an original equipment manufacturer in Japan.
Both the countershaft and 5th gear are constructed from 62 strength rockwell hardened steel.

- All Four x 4 Warranty does not cover - Labour expenses, freight or towing costs, oil leaks, broken gears, consequential damage, loss of income or any other loss or expense.
- All Four x 4 will not be liable for any repairs or work carried out, without prior approval from All Four x 4.
- Warranty is void if parts have been tampered with, modified or dismantled.
- Goods cannot be returned if they have been specially ordered or vehicle cut section.
- Goods not required must be returned within 14 Days of invoice date at purchaser’s expense. Goods will be accepted only at the Management’s discretion. If accepted for return, such goods will be subject to a 15% handling charge.
- Good will not be accepted for return if they have been fitted, unless proven faulty.
- Warranty is void for components used in performance / modified vehicles or parts / competition / off road / race applications.
