Parts suitable for Landcruiser Prado KZJ120, KDJ120, GRJ120, RZJ120, KDJ150, GRJ150 and GDJ150, from the sump to the rear washer

  • Engine and servicing: Gaskets, drive and timing belts, filters, turbo parts and injector parts to keep the engine sealed, serviced and pulling its weight. A genuine sump drain plug is a good one to keep on the shelf, since a plug with a chewed head or tired thread makes every oil change harder than it needs to be.
  • Cooling system parts: Radiators, radiator hoses, water pumps, viscous fan clutches, thermostats and caps that keep temperatures in check when it's loaded up or towing. The engine's computer leans on coolant temperature to set fuelling, so if a cold engine is slow to start, the water temperature sensor is worth testing.
  • Fuel system: Fuel filters, pre-filter kits, injector seals and washers, primer pumps and sender parts for clean fuel and a gauge you can trust. The genuine fuel pump retaining ring is the large plastic nut that holds the pump and sender assembly in the main tank, so it's handy to have ready when the pump comes out.
  • Clutch and brakes: Calipers, pads, rotors, handbrake shoes, clutch parts and master cylinders so it pulls up straight and shifts cleanly. Brembo rear brake pads are ceramic, with a red coating that helps them bed in, and they're made to hold their braking under hard use with less dust.
  • Gearbox and transfer case: Gears and synchro rings, transfer case seals and flanges, gear lever bushes, drain plugs and auto transmission filter kits. The genuine front transfer input seal sits between the gearbox and the transfer case, sealing the join between the two.
  • Diffs and tailshafts: Pinion seals, bearings and shims, crown wheel and pinion sets, diff plugs, tailshafts and tailshaft bolts for a diff that stays quiet and dry. Lifting an IFS 4WD puts its front CV joints on a steeper angle and wears them faster. A Roadsafe 4WD diff drop kit bolts on to lower the front diff by about 25mm, easing that angle.
  • Axle and steering parts: Wheel bearings and hubs, CV joints and boots, axle seals, steering racks, power steering pumps and tie rod ends for steering that feels tight and predictable. The genuine inner rear axle seal presses into the axle housing and runs on the axle retaining ring, keeping diff oil in the housing and off the rear brakes.
  • Suspension parts: Control arms and bushes, shock absorbers, coil springs, sway bar links, ball joints and strut parts from Roadsafe 4WD, EFS and Tough Dog, plus the genuine range. Worn upper control arm bushes can let the front end shift under braking. A genuine front upper control arm bush is a steel and rubber bush made for the inner end of the upper arm.
  • Body and interior: Apron seals, clips, hinges, sun visors, lamps and seals to keep the cabin tidy and the grime out. The right front apron seal is the rubber flap that clips to the inner guard and hangs down to the chassis rail, keeping mud and debris out of the engine bay.
  • Electrical and lighting: Sensors, switches, alternators, glow plugs, lamps and washer pumps to keep it starting, charging and lighting up. If the rear washer has stopped spraying, the rear washer pump is one of the first things to check.

With over 40 years in the 4WD game, we know these vehicles inside out. Order online with express shipping on most items to Australia and New Zealand, or pick up in store at Kotara (Newcastle NSW) if you’re nearby.

Additional Information

How to find the right part suitable for your specific Toyota Landcruiser Prado 120 and 150 Series

Engine
The engine splits this range more than anything else, so match it first. Engine parts suitable for the Prado 120 Series KZJ120 with the 1KZ-TE 3.0 litre turbo diesel differ from those suitable for the KDJ120 with the 1KD-FTV 3.0 litre turbo diesel, which took over in 2006. Parts suitable for the Prado 150 Series KDJ150 with the 1KD-FTV differ again from those suitable for the GDJ150 with the 1GD-FTV 2.8 litre turbo diesel, built from 2015, especially turbo and injector parts. On the petrol side, parts suitable for the RZJ120 with the 3RZ-FE 2.7 litre four-cylinder, built until 2004, differ from those suitable for the GRJ120 and GRJ150 with the 1GR-FE 4.0 litre V6.

Body type and trim
Interior parts suitable for Prado 120 and 150 Series, such as sun visors, can change with the trim level and colour, from GXL through to VX, Grande and Kakadu.

Suspension
Parts suitable for Prado 120 Series vehicles with TEMS air suspension, found on Grande models, differ from those for coil-sprung vehicles, from the front struts to the rear air bags. In the same way, front lower control arms and sway bar mounts suitable for Prado 150 Series vehicles with KDSS differ from those for vehicles without it.

Gearbox and fuel tanks
Gear lever parts, gearbox mounts and auto transmission filter kits differ between the six-speed manual and the five- and six-speed automatics. Fuel pumps and senders also differ between vehicles with a single tank and those with a sub tank as well as the main tank.

Model updates
Plenty of parts changed in 2009, when the newer model arrived, and some changed part-way through a run: the transfer case front output seal suitable for Prado 120 Series vehicles changed size during production. Parts suitable for Prado 150 Series vehicles changed again with updates around 2013 and 2017, from sun visors to radiators and fuel pumps. Each listing gives the build dates it covers, so check them against the build plate on your vehicle.
