Pink slip & eSafety inspections in Newcastle
Rego due? All Four x 4 is an authorised NSW eSafety (pink slip) inspection station in Kotara. We also do independent 4×4 pre-purchase inspection reports and pre-trip and post-trip touring checks, done by four-wheel drive specialists, not a tick-and-flick. Book online or call and we’ll sort it.
Your authorised eSafety (pink slip) station in Kotara
Need a pink slip near you? We’re an authorised NSW eSafety inspection station, central to Newcastle and the Hunter, so you can get your eSafety check done and your registration renewed without the runaround. Book online or call, and if anything needs attention you’re already in a workshop that can fix it.
We’re also 4×4 specialists, which matters for the bigger jobs: an independent pre-purchase inspection report before you buy a used four-wheel drive, and pre-trip and post-trip inspections around a big lap or the high country. Real, first-hand knowledge of these vehicles, written up clearly.
For brake, suspension and wheel-alignment testing with a printed report, see our Safe-T-Stop safety test report page.

View the safety test report →What an eSafety check (pink slip) is, in plain English
An eSafety check is the electronic version of the old pink slip: the safety inspection required to renew registration on most light vehicles in NSW that are more than five years old. It’s carried out at an authorised inspection station like ours.
If your vehicle passes, the result is submitted electronically to Service NSW and you can renew your rego. If something doesn’t pass, you get a report of what needs attention, and because we’re a full workshop we can quote and carry out the repairs on-site, then finalise the check.
Exact requirements can vary by vehicle and situation, so if you’re not sure whether you need one, give us a call or check Service NSW and we’ll point you the right way.

Heading somewhere big? Get it trip-ready first
We’re four-wheel drive specialists, and a lot of our customers point their rigs at the toughest country Australia has. Remote country doesn’t care how good your 4×4 looks, it cares whether it’s ready. Our pre-trip inspections and reports are built for exactly this, they give you real peace of mind before you leave the black-top, and if something needs upgrading or fitting before you go, we can sort that too.
This is our own company 4×4 getting its pre-trip inspection and accessory fitting before we pointed it at the Simpson Desert. It’s the same process we run on your vehicle: check it over properly, sort the weak points, and fit any upgrades or gear you need before you leave.
It’s the difference between “I think it’s right” and “the workshop confirmed it’s right”, 400 km from the nearest servo. If your build needs more capacity, protection or touring gear, we recommend and fit the right parts, see our accessory fitting and GVM upgrades.
Book a pre-trip inspection →The spares and gear that keep a trip a trip, not a rescue
Most bush breakdowns aren’t dramatic, they’re a slow leak or a blocked filter nobody caught before leaving. Here’s the kit we’d want on board for remote touring, and we stock and fit all of it, so you can sort your spares and any upgrades in the one place. Match filters and fluids to your own service schedule, and we’ll tailor the list to your vehicle and route, we know the common weak points on the 70 and 79 Series, Hilux, Ranger and Patrol. Tap a category to see the list.
Fluids & filtersThe number-one cause of remote breakdowns
- Spare oil, fuel and air filters, matched to your service interval
- Engine oil, enough for a full change, not just a top-up
- Pre-mixed coolant (more important on a loaded, GVM-upgraded rig)
- Front and rear diff oil, gearbox and transfer case oil
- Brake fluid and power steering fluid
Belts, hoses & drivetrainSpares for the long way from help
- Spare fan / serpentine belt
- Upper and lower radiator hoses, or a rated emergency repair sleeve
- Heater hose
- CV boots or a CV boot repair kit
- Wheel bearings if you’re doing remote or beach work (sand and water are bearing killers)
Tyres & recovery gearAir down, patch up, get out
- Full-size spare, or two for genuinely remote and desert routes
- Tyre repair kit, plugs and patches (plugs alone won’t fix a sidewall)
- 12V compressor rated for continuous reinflation, plus a pressure gauge
- Recovery boards, snatch strap and correctly rated shackles
- Winch extension strap and tree-trunk protector (if a winch is fitted)
- Bead breaker and tyre levers for sidewall tears
Electrical & chargingCheap insurance against a dead stop
- Spare fuses across the full range your vehicle uses
- Spare relays (a common, cheap failure point)
- Jumper leads or a jump-starter pack
- Spare globes and a multimeter for roadside fault-finding
- Dual-battery / DC-DC spares if you’re running a fridge and camp electrics
Tools & consumablesEnough to get you moving again
- A tool kit matched to your vehicle (metric and imperial if it’s a mix)
- Torque wrench, corrugations work wheel nuts loose
- Cable ties, wire, gaffer and electrical tape
- JB Weld or epoxy putty for sump and radiator field repairs
- Vice grips, RTV sealant, and a jack rated for your laden weight (not factory GVM)
Fuel & waterKnow your real range
- Extra fuel in rated, secured jerry cans, know your realistic range on worst-case terrain, not highway figures
- Water for radiator top-up, kept separate from drinking water
- Drinking water, a minimum of 4 litres per person per day, more in the desert
- A fuel filter funnel to keep contaminants out when you decant
Comms & safetyNon-negotiable off the grid
- UHF radio for convoys and other travellers
- PLB or satellite messenger where there’s no mobile coverage, non-negotiable
- A remote-rated first aid kit, not a glovebox one
- Fire extinguisher
- A trip plan lodged with someone: route, ETA and checkpoints
Documentation & recordsYour safety net
- Owner’s manual and service history
- Your recent workshop inspection record (especially on a GVM-upgraded build, so load ratings match)
- Rego, insurance and roadside assist details
- Note any service due, so you’re not caught out mid-trip
Not sure what your rig needs? Book a pre-trip inspection and we’ll go through it with you, and put together your spares kit and any upgrades before you leave.
